WHEN did you start crafting?
I started crafting 19 years ago after my first daughter was born 2 months premature. It was a scary situation and she was born right in the middle of RSV season. The doctor ordered me to keep her isolated until the spring due to her size. I had a lot of time on my hands and loved the idea of documenting all of my baby's milestones.
WHO introduced me to crafting?
Keeping Memories Alive and Roberts Crafts (local craft store) are the two places that REALLY got me interested in scrapbooking and papercrafting. I used to LOVE browsing the aisles of those two stores to get inspired.
WHAT did I like most about it?
I could craft at my own leisure. Having 4 kids of my own and raising my nephew (#5) I always choose to craft at night. Coffee in hand , there are nights I choose to stay up till 5am if I'm on a roll! I like that with just an idea, I can create pretty much anything! There have been SO many times, where we were tight on time, and due to be somewhere...and I had a box of my handmade cards to use. Baby shower? No problem! Wedding? No problem! I love it!!!
ANY significant memories associated with crafting??
As for personal, I had 4 high risk pregnancies. Scrapbooking helped me get through both the pregnancy as well as helped me document their milestones. Crafting has always been there to help me de-stress. I am the only person I know who has painted and mod-podged the things I have. I have glued $20 in pennies and made it into art for our kitchen. I painted both of my fridges and made them into art and didn't regret it! Haha!! I love crafting and what it has done for me and my family.
