How I started with my crafts...and why I teach
8 years ago
I started such a long long time ago. I saw a paper cutting pattern in a magazine. I thought it was beautiful. Then I would collect Hallmark wrapping paper, (this is before scrapbooking) and cut out every image, layer them up and create cards. I also learned how to sew, knit, and more during the summers I spent with my grandma. I remember she once made me a crazy quilt out of silk and satin. It also had pieces of dresses I wore when I was little. Before giving it to me, she embroidered messages to me on it. Best memory!
After I had my son, I made crafts because it was a way to earn extra money. I also realized how valuable it was to me to give a personalized, hand-crafted gift to the special people in my life.

After a while, I started teaching people, especially people that said they could NOT craft. I found that by breaking down the elements of a project and taking it slow, they were able to find confidence in their abilities. I have a group of ten who said they were "not crafty" making 3d projects and cards every month.
