Girls and their crafts!

 

I think I inherited the craft gene from my Mom, and her from her Mom.  My mom encouraged creativity and was always happy to let me make things with her.  Our projects included everything from wood crafts to scrapbooking to sewing.  I love that we both love making things because we have had many fun days of creating. While I don't live as close to her, we still set aside two scrapbooking weekends together each year.  They are spent together as well as with my sister...which means we usually make things in threes!  Did I mention my sister loves to create too? 

 

My Mom has helped me sew several projects, but a favorite memory is making two princess dresses for my little girl. I thought I could make them cheaper than buying them...let me tell you what, that is so not true!  They were double (if not more) than the ones I had seen in the store, but they were so darn cute thanks to help from my Mom.

 

I have two little girls now.  One just turned 8 and loves to make things too. I enjoy teaching her about sewing and love watching her have such satisfaction in creating something.
