Paint the outside of the album using the first accent color. Add additional tones to the existing paint and album color by painting on stripes in the 2nd shade of paint where desired. Set the album aside to dry.
In the meantime, select 5 prints from the stack. Cut 2 strips from each one in varying lengths and widths (i.e. 1"x3", 1-1/4"x2-1/2", 3/4"x3-1/2", and so on). Add a "V" cut to one end of each strip.
Once the album is dry, lay it face up on the work space. Take the first 5 strips and arrange them on the front of the album until desired look is achieved;adhere them in place with decoupage glue.
Repeat step 3 as desired on the back side of the album and using the additional strips.
Embellish the front cover with buttons, ribbons and more until desired look is achieved.
Fill the album with finished scrapbook pages and/or photos.
